Max began his career as a high school junior in the early 1940s. Between 1946 and 2006, Max was behind the microphone for more than 1,750 KU basketball games and 600 KU football games. The Name Max Falkenstien has become synonymous with Kansas Athletics.  A Good Place to Stop is the sequel to Max and the Jayhawks - a compilation of Max's first 50 years of broadcasting. A Good Place to Stop picks up where that book left off with recollections from Max's final 10 years as a Crimson and Blue broadcaster, including an athletics department shake-up, the exodus of long-time coach Roy Williams and subsequent hiring of Bill Self along with the hiring of two head football coaches. Once named "the best college radio personality in the country" by The Sporting News, the Voice of the Jayhawks now shares a recollection of his memories in this new book. Join Max as he relives 60 years of players, coaches, games, and the relationships that enabled him to describe the feats of so many Jayhawk student-athletes, in the process making them larger than life to the legions of fans who tuned in for every game to hear Max.
