With an incandescent smile, a repertoire of hilarious tricks, and elite basketball skills, Meadowlark Lemon, overcame challenges - and utilized gifts - to become the iconic star of the Harlem Globetrotters. And through his journey from childhood dreams to worldwide fame, he kept one goal in his heart: to give joy. In his compelling book, Trust Your Next SHOT, (Originally published in 2010) Meadowlark delivered loving reminiscences of his youth, hilarious stories about his days with the Globetrotters, and wise instructions for living a joy-filled life. We lost Meadowlark in December of 2015. What was missing from that first book was the legendary dramatic photos from his life, the never-before seen photos of his childhood and early playing days, and the stories of his unwavering mission for helping others.

The Meadowlark Lemon Legacy lives on. His message of JOY continues through the efforts of The Meadowlark Lemon Legacy Foundation. This new book contains much of Meadowlark’s original and inspirational writing. It also has been expanded with additional insight, dramatic never-seen photos, stories of basketball, and growing up black in America.
